This Alabama database is an index of deaths recorded by the state from 1908 to 1959. The registration of births and deaths on the county level began in 1881, however, state-level registration of deaths in Alabama did not begin until the beginning of 1908. The index includes the name of the deceased individual, the county where the death occurred, date of death, and the state certificate number (volume and page). This database will prove useful to those doing Alabama genealogy research.
